Data loss costs UK Companies millions in human resources and lost revenue each year, and as such a solid backup strategy is critical to any business. It is quite normal to house critical business data on tapes, hard drives and other media using standard daily backup routines and keeping a copy offsite. The problem is that you can only take the previous nights backup home, so in the event of a disaster you could lose up to 24 hours of business critical data!

Ancar B Technologies offers a Remote Backup facility allowing companies to store business critical databases and files in an off-site secure environment – a reliable addition to any backup strategy. Using SSL encryption, data is transferred securely between your systems and ours, ensuring data integrity and security.
![]() Keeping Data Safe & Secure To reduce the demand on resources and bandwidth, in-file delta only replicates data on a byte level to ensure that only the changed data is replicated. With native Operating System support for Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, Novell Netware and Sun Solaris and application support for Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Exchange, Oracle, MySQL and Lotus Notes/Domino, the solution is flexible enough to meet any business requirement. Email notifications can be sent to any number of addresses to give you peace of mind. Alternatively we can manage the system for you with regular data integrity checks and periodical data selection reviews. How much can I backup? The size of the remote backup is limited by your Internet connection and governed by the amount of data the broadband connection can handle at the time of the backup routine. However, due to high levels of compression and in-file delta, a basic ADSL connection can backup significant levels of data overnight. How often can I backup? Most businesses backup at the end of the day, evening or overnight. This is simply due to the fact that available bandwidth is higher at these times. In fact, there is no limit on how often, or when your backup can run. Therefore, if clients have a critical database or set of files, these can be backed up several times during the working day, assuming you can spare the bandwidth, leaving less critical data to run overnight as normal. RetentionOur standard retention period is 7 days, but this can be increased if you require. Increasing the retention period simply increases the space you will use, so costs will rise accordingly. |
