Helpdesk Manager

Hello!  I’m John and I look after Ancar B’s Helpdesk Facility.

I started out as a Novell Network Engineer back in the mid-to late-nineties and began working with Microsoft at about the time Windows 95, NT4 Server and NT4 Workstation were the norm.  After spending several years as a server and network engineer I changed scope to become an administrator for a call centre based organisation and got into CTI and staff management.  I then spent some time doing some Web Design before deciding to get back in to an engineer based role with Ancar B.

I joined the Ancar B team in May 2007 as a Helpdesk Technician and for my sins have ended up as the Helpdesk Manager – a role I enjoy very much.  I have a good team who work with me and we have a great craic in the office when the phones aren’t ringing off the hook!  Occasionally they let me out to see the odd customer here and there so you may bump into me…

When I’m not at work I spend most of my time changing nappies!  My wife and I were blessed with twins last year (a boy and a girl – full set!) and am still somewhere over the moon…  When they get to bed I still play football with the lads twice a week, watch sport whenever I can get hold of the remote and love cooking and eating.

My arch-enemies are beer, pizza and curry.  My never ending battle with my waistline rolls on…

I look forward to hearing your comments on the blog!
